A brilliant performance saw Mark Boyle become the first golfer to defend the Sarazen Classic, cementing his place at the top of the Tour rankings with a comfortable four shot victory.

After fast starts from Arran Squires and Gary Dance, Boyle hit the front on the 7th hole of the opening round, building a lead he was never to relinquish.

Boyle defends Sarazen Classic
Taking a three shot lead into the final round, a double bogey at the first saw Mark Walters briefly close the gap, but Boyle held his nerve on the back nine to deliver the second win of his career.
​
"I'm pleased to have held my nerve after being in front for so long and it's an added bonus to become the first to defend the title" said Boyle.
