Tim Haley secured a third Masters title to draw level with Arran Squires and Jamie Andrews, after a hard fought tussle with Shaun Carey in Cascais.

The opening round at Penha Longa saw Carey fire one of the best rounds in Masters history, completing the final ten holes in just two over par to open up a four shot lead over the field.

Lee Scott and Gary Dance played their way into contention on "Moving Day" at Estoril, while an indifferent back nine brought Carey back to the pack, with the ever consistent Haley closing the penultimate day one shot ahead going into the final round.​

At Oitavos Dunes, it was Jamie Andrews who fired the round of the day in strong winds to claim third place, leaving the front two in a war of attrition at the top of the leaderboard.

With Haley keeping Carey at arms length for much of the final round, there looked to be only one winner, but a stumble on the back nine gave Carey hope and Haley took just a single shot lead into the final hole.

Haley secured an excellent par at the last and with Carey's twelve foot birdie putt for the win drifting agonisingly wide of the hole, the Masters title was back in familiar hands.

While Haley's march towards Squires' record haul of seven Majors seems inevitable​, doubts remain about his ability to convert over the shorter format, having only won tournaments over 36 holes or greater.
